There are many things to complain about when Star Wars Episodes I-III come up in conversation but one of the biggest flaws was the overload of CGI that George Lucas decided to use, breaking away from the practical sets and affects he used in episodes IV-VI. J.J. Abrams and his crew have tried to squelch the worries of fans by promising that they would return to the franchises original form with practical sets and affects aplenty.
No new footage or major news was brought to Comic Con this year in regards to Star Wars and that's perfectly okay with me. Seeing a promo video showing off practical creatures, the Millennium Falcon and many characters we haven't seen before is more rewarding to me than any new trailer or even casting news for Rogue One. Oh, and we get a glimpse of Princess Leia which doesn't hurt either!
There's nothing jaw dropping in this video but it certainly shows off the excitement that the cast and crew shared on set and even has a few snippets of interviews with the newcomers to the franchise. All of this plus the reveal that Simon Pegg will be in a creature suit make this video the perfect addition to the Star Wars marketing campaign. Check out the video and share your thoughts.
