HBO's Game of Thrones (GOT) has reached an interesting point in their adaptation where they have either caught up to or surpassed the story lines that George R.R. Martin has written in his novels. With this fork in the road David Benioff and D.B. Weiss decided to skip Bran's story in season 5 as opposed to manufacturing this from nothing.
Isaac Hempstead Wright who has played Bran Stark in the first four seasons of GOT was recently interviewed by the Irish Examiner on everything from his role as the eldest (true) Stark son to what Marvel character he would love to play and had some news he was able to share about the HBO series. He was quoted as saying "I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions"
manufacturing This is great news for fans of the second smallest Stark and may present concerns for book-readers since (to my knowledge) HBO has caught up to what Martin has written for this character. Certainly the folks in the writers' room have some form of correspondence with Mr. Martin in regards to where this character is heading, but even if not I have faith they will do the character justice and deliver the goods next spring.
This is an interesting time for GOT fans as the shows wades into uncharted waters and approaches what could be their second to last season. Feel free to share your thoughts on this news or the show in general.
