The Final Season of The League Receives a Premier Date

The League has been providing laughs to many an audience member since it premiered on the FX Network back in 2009 and as they say, all good things must end. The League has survived for six seasons and a network change, having slid on over the the FXX Network last year and now we know the premier date for the seventh and final season. The beginning of the end will be September 9th as the show will retain its Wednesday 9 pm slot.

The League is a mostly improvised show consisting of six friends who have a long-running fantasy football league they are in together. The husband and wife team of Jackie and Jeff Schaeffer have served as executive producers for the entire run after creating the show and writing the outlines for many episodes over the last six years. The final season will see the return of cast members Mark Duplass, Katie Aselton, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Stephen Rannazzisi and John Lajoie as well as a high likelihood of NFL and other celebrity cameos as has been the trend thus far.

While it is sad to say goodbye to such a hilarious series, this show has yet to slow down or hit a low point so it is best to say goodbye while they are still in their prime. There is plenty of talent here to keep an eye on in a post-League world and this will hopefully free up schedules to allow for new, even more hilarious ventures for each of them. We will miss you Shiva. Fare well...
